Hodge Hits Two Dingers, Brewers Win, 8-4
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Oakland Athletics, 8-4, at O.co Coliseum. The win was due in part to designated hitter Nick Hodge, who belted 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Milwaukee reliever Alfred Brearley picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Iglesias Cortez absorbed the loss. Corey Milton was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 5 save opportunities.

The game turned with no one out in the top of the eighth when Hodge, who finished 5th in the EAST in home runs with 36 last year, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Brewers into the lead, 6-4.

"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Hodge. "I just want to win ballgames."

The Brewers now own a record of 29-31.
