Valdiviezo Dominant in Mets Victory
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the New York Mets and the Texas Rangers, Xavier Valdiviezo was the difference-maker. The New York right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Nick Coppa, credited with the save, is now 2 for 3 in save opportunities. New York has a record of 32-28, placing them third in the Eastern Region North Division.
Valdiviezo, the winner, is now 2-0. In 7 innings of work, he gave up no runs on 4 hits, while collecting 7 Ks. He essentially shut down the Texas offense.
"That's baseball," said Texas manager Luis Dorado. "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
