Fire Frogs Topple Pit Spitters, 4-3
|
The Florida Fire Frogs picked up a win at Osceola County Stadium, taking down the Traverse City Pit Spitters, 4-3. Starting pitcher Jason Caldwell was a big reason why. Florida reliever Dave Heath picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Alfonso Samaniego shouldered the loss. Florida, at 53-76, holds down 6th place in the East Coast League Florida Division.
Florida took a 4-3 lead on P.J. Bill's 10th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Bill hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Traverse City pitcher Alfonso Samaniego visibly frustrated.
"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager Omari Parker.
