Dunedin Dismisses Traverse City, 6-3
|
The Dunedin Blue Jays knocked off the Traverse City Pit Spitters, 6-3, at Sun Sox Ballpark. Kaleb Haney was a big reason Dunedin won. The shortstop was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. J.R. Longo was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 10 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. Emmanuel Becijos notched his 25th save in 26 chances.
Haney contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Dunedin in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-0, Haney took a curveball from Aleixo Rodriguez and stroked the home run to right. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Blue Jays to leap in front, 4-2.
Haney attributed the win to his team's "dogged determination."
