The Hagerstown Suns downed the Columbus Catfish, 12-1, the largest share of the credit belonging to second baseman Allen Hazel. On the day, Hazel was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Suns. Kievyn Johnson got the save, his 1st in 1 chances.

David Velinzia had a big grand slam home run for the Suns in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Hagerstown leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Paul Crane and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Suns ahead, 7-0.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Columbus manager Francisco Avalos. "They pounded us."

The win puts Hagerstown at 30-104.
