Lake Olmstead Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Lakewood BlueClaws and Kannapolis Intimidators.

Lakewood beat Kannapolis at Lake Olmstead Stadium, eking out a 5-4 win. The triumph was primarily due to left fielder Martin Jeppson. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. Jonah Connolly claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 5-2.

René De La Rosa chipped in a run-scoring sacrifice fly for Lakewood in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.

Lakewood manager Ben Schiappa was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
