The Medford Flying Tigers got a superb performance from pitcher Scott Smith. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Salem-Keizer. The Volcanoes won the game, 2-1. Smith threw 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs. Nicholas Del Carmen earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Earning his 18th save of the year was Skyler DuBose.

It could have been a different outcome for Salem-Keizer, had it not been for Nolan Huffnagle, the 21-year old second baseman . Huffnagle contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Salem-Keizer up, 2-1.

Said losing manager Anthony Delaney: "We've got to find a way to push a run across."

Salem-Keizer, at 35-26, sits in 4th place in the Northwest League South Division.
