Gold Beach took on Yakima Valley in front of a lively crowd.

The Gold Beach Sea Unicorns topped the Yakima Valley Pippins, 4-2, in Northwest League action at Redding Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Gold Beach pitcher Pablo Albarado. Bourke Zablocki got credit for the save for Gold Beach. It was his 5th of the year.

Zezu Cortinas aided the Gold Beach cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder went 2-4 with a double.

In postgame remarks, Cortinas hailed his team's "grit."

Gold Beach is now 17-48, Yakima Valley 19-46.
