Victory Takes Mustangs to 31-29
|
The Billings Mustangs defeated the Cheyenne Chiefs by the score of 7-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Ronan Rowland. Rowland went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Mustangs on the day. Levi Cifuentes sewed up the save, his 2nd. Billings, at 31-29, sits in 5th place in the Pioneer League North Division.
Sheriff Valle had a big 2-run double for the Mustangs in the bottom of the first inning. With Billings leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a knuckle curve from 21-year old left-handed pitcher Jadson Faisca and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mustangs ahead, 3-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Rowland.
