Birmingham Twirls a Gem for Danville
|
The Danville Braves got a magnificent effort from pitcher Austin Birmingham, who kept Burlington hitters in check en route to a 3-0 Braves win at Burlington Athletic Stadium. The win puts the Braves at 33-34, while the Royals drop to 23-44.
Birmingham, now 3-2, scattered 2 hits over 7.1 innings for the Braves.
Afterward, Braves manager Greg Jones was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
