Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Yankees
|
The home crowd was treated to a thrilling, walk-off win.
The Yankees grabbed a win, 6-5, at Calfee Park, overcoming a fine effort from Blue Ridge pitcher Elvis Miller. Miller went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. Pulaski reliever Mick Carey was the winner. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Charlie Penney.
Oliver Armendariz found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the 13th. Facing Blue Ridge hurler Charlie Penney, the 20-year-old left fielder hit a run-scoring single. His 31st hit of the season put the Yankees on top, 6-5.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Pulaski manager Elias Gonzalez.
The loss makes Blue Ridge 41-26.
