The Tabasco Tacos got a strong performance from pitcher Juan De La Rosa, who stymied the Mexico City offense en route to a win, 3-1, at The Taco Stand. De La Rosa picked up the win for Tabasco, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 9 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Samuel Simmons locked down his 2nd save.
The Tacos got a big at-bat from center fielder Levi Mota. For the game, Mota went 3 for 4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Tabasco a 1-0 lead.
"It was a good effort all around," said Mota.
The Tacos, now 4-1, have stormed out of the gates.
