Rodd Mayberry never let the Cervezas get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Aztecs to a win, 1-0. Mayberry, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. The win puts Chihuahua at 4-2.

The Aztecs got a big at-bat from designated hitter Caton Tamez. For the game, Tamez went 1-3 with a double. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Chihuahua a 1-0 lead.
