Red Sox Hammered by Daniels, Drop Game 6 to Cubs
The Raleigh Cubs and the Reidsville Red Sox will take the Wild Card Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Cubs beat the Red Sox, 9-5, at Ballpark of Raleigh to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Raleigh third baseman R.J. Daniels was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

Had Scott Anderson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Anderson hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Cubs.

"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Reidsville skipper Jeff Ward.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Raleigh in Raleigh.
