Diamond Dogs Lose Again, 1-0, to Red Sox
|
The Moose Jaw Diamond Dogs got a superb performance from pitcher David Santos, but the Reidsville Red Sox still won the game, 1-0. Santos threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball. The save went to Paolo Armas, number 6 for him. With the win, Reidsville goes to 18-52, while the Diamond Dogs fall to 34-36.
Reidsville used a well-timed hit by Marty Riedl to capture the win. The third baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"Baseball is a funny game," said Riedl. "You've got to keep battling until things fall your way."
