Aztecs Down Matadors, 3-2

The Chihuahua Aztecs and Yucatan Matadors played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
The Chihuahua Aztecs eked out a 3-2 win versus the Yucatan Matadors at Timeless Temple. Nobody did more than pitcher Radford Scott. He was terrific. Niles Valencia snagged the win in relief. In 2.2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 1-0 on the season.
Chihuahua grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Noah Long delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Aztecs.
"If we keep winning the close games," Scott said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
The win puts Chihuahua at 11-9.
