Critical Game 5 Goes to Host Herons, 5-4
Pembroke Pines Herons center fielder Johnny Svenningsen was the difference-maker at Charlotte Sports Park, as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game 5 of the Divisional Series. The Herons took the 5-4 win over the Sanibel Sailors to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

David De Los Santos's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh was significant, coming with the bases loaded and the game tied, 3-3. The Pembroke Pines designated hitter hit a run-scoring single off Justin Fey to put the Herons up.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Herons manager Juwan Henry said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

Game 6 is scheduled for Monday at Sailors Ballpark in Sanibel.
