State College Breaks Through for First Win in Divisional Series; Now Trails 2-1
The State College Spikes have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Lowell Spinners, winning, 6-4, at Bowman Field. Spikes left-hander Clive Luttrell threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Spikes to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Paul Rangel aided the State College cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman drew 1 walk, while scoring 2.

"Clive was in attack mode," said State College manager Ben Osborne.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bowman Field in Williamsport.
