St. Petersburg Win Brings Series to 2-2
|
The St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels knotted up the Wild Card Series at AT&T Field, thanks in large part to starter Alex Carter. Carter quieted the Chattanooga Scouts, enabling St. Petersburg to grab the 7-0 win and move into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series.
Carter was in the zone all game. He frustrated Chattanooga hitters while giving the Flying Squirrels 6 innings of quality work. Carter threw 97 pitches, allowing 1 hit and getting 9 punchouts.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Carter told the St. Petersburg Bulletin. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at AT&T Field in Chattanooga.
