Critical Game 5 Goes to Host Indians, 1-0
|
In a pivotal Game 5, the Spokane Indians were hoping for a big game from starter Josiah Hemler. They got one.
The right-hander shut out the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 1-0 victory. The Indians took the 1-0 win over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Hemler gave Spokane a solid start. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 7.1 innings.
"Teams don't get here by being incompetent, so I really wasn't expecting this," Hemler said. "I just kept throwing and they kept missing."
The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, September 23rd , 2065 at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer.
