Blue Jays Hammered by Batista, Fall Further Behind in DS
The Danville Braves moved to within one game of the Regional Championship Series, downing the visiting Bluefield Blue Jays at American Legion Field by a score of 6-2. Braves designated hitter Gustavo Batista did some major damage. He was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Braves a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

In the bottom of the 4th, Danville took the lead on a 2-run home run by Mario Brady. At the time, the Braves were trailing 2-1, but Brady's hit with two outs against Bluefield pitcher Andresa Zermeno put them in front, 3-2.

"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Braves manager Jayden Barrett.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at American Legion Field in Danville.
