The Fresno Falcons defeated the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-2, in Western Region action at Citizens Bank Park. Connor Pla pulled his weight. The 7-year veteran went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Fresno pitcher Victor Kennedy got the win, upping his record to 8-1. Raymundo Capellan got the loss. Fresno, at 43-22, holds down first place in the Western Region Pacific Division.

Eric Alvares, the 26-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Alvares contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Fresno up, 2-0.
