Headen, Travelers Wallop Biscuits in Game 4 of DS
|
The Arkansas Travelers knotted up the Divisional Series at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, thanks in large part to designated hitter Howard Headen. Headen was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once as he overpowered the Montgomery Biscuits, enabling Arkansas to grab the 8-1 win and move into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series.
Had Headen not come through in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Headen hit a 2-run home run. The Travelers never looked back after taking the 3-1 lead.
"Ever since we qualified for the playoffs, the guys have been razzing me about how I'm going to embarrass myself out there," the rookie Headen said with a smile. "I'm glad to prove them wrong, at least for a day."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery.
