Espinal Blasts AquaSox, Volcanoes Take Game 3, 6-4
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of third baseman Dany Espinal, the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes stopped the visiting Everett AquaSox, 6-4, in Game 3 of the Regional Championship Series. Espinal went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Volcanoes, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.
Espinal contributed in the bottom of the first. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Salem-Keizer get the win.
"We haven't forgotten how long this series might be, but 2-1 is a heck of a lot better than 1-2," Espinal said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer.
