Matadors Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
|
The Yucatan Matadors scored a tight 2-1 win versus the Mexico City Diablos Rojos at Bull Rush Park. Yucatan pitcher T.J. Billegas held his own in the contest. Yucatan reliever Sandy Rodriguez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jim Reed took the loss. The first-place Diablos Rojos have dropped 5 straight games.
Rod Ternes was the walk-off hero for Yucatan. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Matadors center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place was rockin'," Ternes said.
