A- Championship Series Game 1 Victory for Giles and Everett
The Everett AquaSox started the A- Championship Series in style, downing the visiting State College Spikes at Everett Memorial Stadium by a score of 5-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. AquaSox left-hander Oberlin Giles threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball.

With one out in the bottom of the fourth, Mason Boxdorfer barreled up a sinker from Woodrow Ballard. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the AquaSox in front, 4-0.

"We lost," State College manager Ben Osborne said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Everett Memorial Stadium in Everett.
