Wild Card Series Game 1 Victory for Porter and Olympia
The Olympia Spartans started the Wild Card Series in style today, downing the visiting Rogue Valley Dodgers at Ballpark of Victoria by a score of 6-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Spartans right-hander Robbin Porter threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball.

Porter was in the zone all game. He frustrated Rogue Valley hitters while giving the Spartans 6.2 innings of quality work. Porter threw 96 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 6 punchouts.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Porter.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Victoria in Olympia.
