The Hudson Valley Renegades took down the Winston-Salem Dash by the score of 3-2 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Wild Card Series. The largest share of the credit belongs to Hudson Valley starter Steve Van den Bossche, who threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball.

Russ Paul took Winston-Salem hurler Ward Pulvino deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Renegades on top, 3-2. In all, Paul had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.

"I was talking to myself on the mound, saying 'attack, attack, attack, stay convicted, no matter what,'" said Van den Bossche.
