Virginia Beach Win Evens Series at 3
|
In a crucial game, the Virginia Beach Mariners put on their best show, beating the Dunedin Blue Jays by a final score of 6-3. J.M. Genaw threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Virginia Beach and Dunedin are now tied at 3 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.
Virginia Beach used a clutch hit from Ken Peavey to get the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mariners ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Solid performance from our side," said Mariners manager Jamie Harper.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium in Dunedin.
