Almost There: Charlotte On Cusp of WCS Triumph After 6-3 Win
The Charlotte Stone Crabs got a strong performance from pitcher Jake Gaston, who stymied the visiting Dunedin Blue Jays en route to a win, 6-3, in Game 4 of the Wild Card Series. The Blue Jays could never get a bead on the right-handed Gaston, who threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The Stone Crabs now hold a 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Paco Polanco's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant, coming with a runner on 1st and the game tied, 2-2. The Charlotte designated hitter hit a 2-run home run off Russell Bearden to put the Stone Crabs up.

Polanco called the win "a lesson in teamwork."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte.
