Gentry Blasts Mets, Indians Take Game 2, 6-4
|
The Kinston Indians knotted up the Wild Card Series at Ballpark of Kinston today, thanks in large part to first baseman Saloman Gentry. Gentry went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 as he overpowered the Kingsport Mets, enabling Kinston to grab the 6-4 win and move into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.
The outcome might have been different had it not been for Gentry. In the bottom of the eighth inning, when the Indians were trailing 3-2, Gentry delivered a two-out grand slam home run for Kinston, giving his team the lead.
"This was a good win for us," said Gentry. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
The next game is set to be played for Thursday, September 12th , 2052 at Hunter Wright Stadium in Kingsport.
