Salem starter Severo Chavez turned in an exceptional performance and got some last-minute help as the Red Sox forced the Wild Card Series into a decisive Game 7. The right-handed Chavez threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball in a must-win situation against the Dunedin Blue Jays, keeping Salem close enough to take the 3-2 victory on a 9th-inning walk-off. The winner of the series will advance to the Divisional Series.

Salem got a game-changing hit from Wesley Normand. The right fielder blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a winner.

After the game, Salem manager Condon Murrell applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium in Salem.
