Virginia Beach Takes Wild Card Series
The Virginia Beach Mariners "proved we can handle pressure" by beating the Wild Card Series and eliminating the St. Lucie Mets, according to series MVP Jaxon Avery.

"This is the big stage, we're off to the Divisional Series and looking towards the A+ Championship Series," he said. "There's a lot of pressure at this time of year and it's only going to get more intense from here. But I think we can handle it just fine."

Virginia Beach won the final game 5-2, to wrap up the series 4-1.

Avery led his team to the series win by putting up a .381 average, with a .381 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Divisional Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wild Card Series finishes.
