Helena Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in WCS
|
Joseph Boonsook pitched a gem to help the Helena Brewers escape with a tight 2-0 victory over the Medicine Hat Stampede in a low-scoring Wild Card Series contest today. The right-handed Boonsook threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball in the win, just enough for the Brewers on a day when their offense dried up. Helena now leads the best-of-7 series 2-1.
Boonsook earned the win, going 8 strong innings for Helena. The right-hander allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 7. Medicine Hat hitters had little success against him.
"Joseph made his pitches," said Helena manager Matt Mayberry.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Kindrick Legion Field in Helena.
