Game 5 was big. So was Brycen Patrick.

The Medicine Hat starter rose to the occasion at Kindrick Legion Field today, leading the Stampede to a crucial 7-0 victory over the Helena Brewers. Patrick threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball as the Stampede won on the road to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Wild Card Series.

R.J. Woods, the 20-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Woods contributed a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to put Medicine Hat up, 6-0.

"Brycen was throwing strikes, locating well," said Medicine Hat manager Andy Rodgers.

The next game is set to be played for Monday, September 16th , 2052 at Ballpark of Medicine Hat in Medicine Hat.
