Chiefs Take 3-0 Lead with 4-0 Win
Cheyenne Chiefs manager Mike Marois knew it was a gamble to give the start to rookie Brandon Flores. It was a good gamble to take.

Pitching in front of a supportive hometown crowd, the 22-year-old right-hander silenced the visiting Ogden Raptors at Ballpark of Cheyenne today. The Chiefs shut out the Raptors by a final score of 4-0, to give the Chiefs a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Wild Card Series.

Herb Byars had a productive at-bat for the Chiefs with two out in the bottom of the third. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, the shortstop hit a 2-run single. The at-bat was important in the Cheyenne win.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Ogden skipper Matt Gissler, "and it cost us."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Cheyenne in Cheyenne.
