Voyagers Clip Cannons 2-1 in WCS Contest
|
The Great Falls Voyagers moved to within one game of the Divisional Series today, downing the Calgary Cannons 2-1 in a low-scoring affair at Ballpark of Calgary. Leading the way for the Voyagers was hurler Cordell Wilson. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Voyagers a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 Wild Card Series.
Hank DeWitt, the 22-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. DeWitt contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Great Falls up, 2-0.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," DeWitt said.
Game 6 is scheduled for Monday at Centene Stadium in Great Falls.
