Woolly Mammoths Running Away With WCS After 5-2 Victory
The Westside Woolly Mammoths moved to within one game of the Divisional Series, downing the visiting Great Lakes Loons at Municipal Stadium by a score of 5-2. Woolly Mammoths left-hander George Zienty had a strong outing in which he threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Woolly Mammoths a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Wild Card Series.

Westside right fielder Gordon Elam helped the Woolly Mammoths go up, 1-0, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Elam hit a run-scoring double off Great Lakes pitcher Sam Grace.

"It was a good effort all around," said Zienty.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Municipal Stadium in Utica.
