Road Win Lifts Lakewood to 2-1 Lead in WCS
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of third baseman J.D. Ethier, the Lakewood BlueClaws got a road win against the Rome Braves, 6-2, in Game 3 of the Wild Card Series. Ethier was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the BlueClaws, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.
Hartford, Vermont native J.D. Ethier had a clutch at-bat in the top of the sixth for the BlueClaws. With Lakewood trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run double.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Lakewood manager Ben Schiappa.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at State Mutual Stadium in Rome.
