Frogs Running Away With RCS After 6-0 Victory
When he got to Fayetteville, Brandon Payton was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Regional Championship Series.

The 19-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the host Erwin Mountaineers, 6-0, in a remarkable performance at Ballpark of Edmonton. With the win, the Frogs took a 3-0 lead in the best-of-7 Regional Championship Series.

Payton gave Fayetteville a blue-ribbon performance. The 6-foot-3 right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 7.2 innings of work.

"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Eddie Wilbur.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Edmonton in Erwin.
