Divisional Series Game 1 Victory for Egerton and Dayton
|
When he got to Dayton, Kyle Egerton was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Divisional Series.
The 23-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the visiting Beloit Snappers 3-0 in a remarkable performance at Fifth Third Field today. With the win, the Dragons took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.
Egerton pitched a complete game for Dayton. The 23-year-old right-hander was charged with no runs on 3 hits. He struck out 3 during his 80-pitch performance.
"I expect to pitch a complete game shutout every time," said Egerton.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fifth Third Field in Dayton.
