Rickert Blasts Dash, Marauders Take Game 4, 8-5
|
On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot Winston-Salem Dash team, the Bradenton Marauders had a tough assignment. Jacob Rickert delivered.
The Marauders third baseman was unstoppable for the visitors, as he was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 in guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 8-5. Rickert, 23, earned accolades for his efforts. The win means Bradenton now trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.
Hillbilly Jacobson was vital to the Bradenton win. He was 1-4 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the third with two out, Jacobson hit a 2-run single. It made the score 3-1, in favor of the Marauders.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Rickert. "You've got to get results."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at LECOM Park in Bradenton.
