Almost There: Kannapolis On Cusp of DS Triumph After 4-2 Win
The Kannapolis Intimidators moved to within one game of the Regional Championship Series today, downing the visiting Greensboro Grasshoppers at CMC-NorthEast Stadium by a score of 4-2. Intimidators right-hander Pluto Benedith had a strong outing in which he threw 5.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The win gives the Intimidators a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Timo Pérez aided the Kannapolis cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder drove in one run.

"We did a lot of things right," said Benedith.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CMC-NorthEast Stadium in Kannapolis.
