Coots Handcuffs Loons, River Bandits Seize 3-1 Advantage in DS
|
The Quad Cities River Bandits moved to within one game of the Regional Championship Series, downing the visiting Great Lakes Loons at Modern Woodmen Park by a score of 4-1. River Bandits right-hander Wesley Coots had a strong outing in which he threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the River Bandits a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.
The Loons had trouble solving Coots, who surrendered 1 run on 4 hits over 7 innings.
"When you have a good rhythm and good flow, it's nice to just go out there and pound the strike zone with confidence," said Coots.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport.
