Clowns Lose By a Run at Puebla, 3-2
|
The Puebla Mermen got a good effort from starter Reidar Orellana in defeating the Campeche Clowns at 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The final score was 3-2. The winning pitcher was Orellana, now 3-4. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 10. Dustin Kraft earned the save, his 19th, for the Mermen.
Zach Calderon, who is tied for 2nd in the LLM in extra base hits with 34, aided the Puebla cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter drove in one run.
Orellana attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
The Mermen' win now puts them at 35-39.
