Steele Blasts Spikes, Muckdogs Take Game 3, 4-2
Riding the 2-hit performance of first baseman Jared Steele, the Batavia Muckdogs stopped the visiting State College Spikes, 4-2, in Game 3 of the Regional Championship Series today. Steele went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Muckdogs, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.

The Muckdogs took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Facing State College hurler Michael Ruffing with two outs, Steele hit a 2-run home run.

"There's nothing like the postseason," said Steele, "to ramp up the pressure."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dwyer Stadium in Batavia.
