Bowling Green Breaks Through for First Win in Divisional Series; Now Trails 3-1
|
On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot Rome Braves team, the Bowling Green Hot Rods had a tough assignment. Nickenson Baal delivered.
The Hot Rods left fielder was unstoppable for the visitors, as he went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 5-3. Baal, 24, earned accolades for his efforts. The win means Bowling Green now trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.
Sint Michiel, Curaçao native Nickenson Baal had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the eighth for the Hot Rods. With Bowling Green trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run home run.
Baal called the win "an overall solid one."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bowling Green Ballpark in Bowling Green.
