Regional Championship Series Game 1 Goes to Jonesboro, Thanks to Deland
The Jonesboro Growlers started the Regional Championship Series in style, downing the visiting Rome Braves at Growlers Ballpark by a score of 4-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Growlers right-hander Connor Deland threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball.

Cuarto De Los Santos took Rome hurler Dow Johnson deep in the bottom of the seventh. His 2-run home run put the Growlers on top, 3-2. In all, De Los Santos had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

Deland called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Growlers Ballpark in Jonesboro.
