Cleveland Hands Montreal 5-2 Loss
|
The Cleveland Indians got a strong performance from pitcher Chris Romano, who stymied the visiting Montreal Expos en route to a win, 5-2, in Game 2 of the Wild Card Series. The Expos could never get a bead on the left-handed Romano, who threw 5.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The Indians now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.
Cleveland took control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Niceto Bracamonte hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Indians.
"Chris was Chris," said Indians manager Justin Jackson. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."
The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 13th , 2062 at Olympic Stadium.
