Almost There: Fort Lauderdale On Cusp of RRCS Triumph After 4-3 Win
|
A strong performance from pitcher Oscar Spuck was not enough for the Miramar Sun Dogs, who were stopped by the visiting Fort Lauderdale Pirates, 4-3, in Game 4 of the Regional Championship Series. The Pirates never truly figured out the right-handed Spuck, who threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. Still, the Pirates now hold a 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.
Fort Lauderdale took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 3-3, when Rupert Boston hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Pirates in front, 4-3.
"This was a nice win for us," said Boston. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tuesday, September 25th , 2057.
