Win Extends Orioles Lead to 2-0 Over Stampede
|
When Hampton Orioles manager Andy Rodgers penciled in the name of youngster Roberto Zamudio today, he said he was hoping for perhaps six decent innings. He got them, but in hindsight, he probably didn't need them.
The Orioles destroyed the Medicine Hat Stampede, 12-0, behind a good start from the 21-year-old Zamudio and a huge day from the offense. With the win, Hampton took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 R+ Championship Series.
It could have been a different outcome for Hampton, had it not been for Dillon Harmon, the 23-year old third baseman . Harmon contributed a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put Hampton up, 3-0.
"Sometimes the runs come in bunches," said Zamudio after the game.
The next game is set to be played for Saturday, October 12th , 2052 at Hampton Stadium in Hampton.
