Raucous Ballpark of Medicine Hat Crowd Propels Stampede to 5-2 Victory; Series Tied at 1
|
The Medicine Hat Stampede topped the Great Falls Voyagers by the score of 5-2 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Regional Championship Series today. The largest share of the credit belongs to Medicine Hat starter Kent Leisen, who threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball in the win.
Valdinei Lara chipped in for Medicine Hat with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"It's true for every sport, I think, but the playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in and get hot," Medicine Hat manager Andy Rodgers told BNN after the win. "We took care of the first part and now we're just working on the second."
The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, October 2nd , 2052 at Centene Stadium in Great Falls.
