Pueblo Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
|
Their bats were silent and Pueblo had a rookie on the mound. No problem.
On a day when the Indians struggled to string together much offense, the club got a big boost from 22-year-old starter Kameron Taylor. The left-hander quieted the Fayetteville Frogs at Indians Ballpark to help Pueblo take the 3-1 decision and seize a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 R+ Championship Series.
Yassel Burgos had a timely hit in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Pueblo catcher hit a run-scoring single. That put the Indians in front, 2-1.
"Kameron throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Pueblo manager Victor Arias.
The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 5th , 2057 at Fayetteville Grounds in Fayetteville.
